Goals and Objectives
Statement of Goal
The goal of the GRC is to research, advise,
disseminate and support the provision of transition services for individuals
with disabilities through the legislative process and policy formation at the
federal, state and local level.
Objectives
1.
To
review, analyze and act upon legislative policy, issues and initiatives that may
impact WorkAbility I and transition programs.
2.
To
monitor specific pieces of legislation.
3.
To work
collaboratively with WorkAbility I Advisory Committee and
State Transition
staff and communicate effectively with WA I regions.
4.
To form
and maintain strategic alliances that support programs and
resources for WorkAbility I students, such as STC, WIA, One Stop, CAWEE, CAROP, and the California WorkAbility Alliance.
5.
To seek
and develop linkages within CDE as appropriate.
6.
To
establish and exercise effective communication with the field to
support legislative awareness, legislative responsiveness and develop field
input linkages.
